To maximize the value of your solar system, we recommend installing energy storage batteries. With energy storage, solar is used not only to complement grid power to reduce your energy bills, but also to charge batteries which can then power your entire home during grid power outages (which are becoming more and more common in the Bay Area), or during the night.
We currently offer the Tesla Powerwall 2 and LG Chem 9.8 KWh 63 Ah 400V Lithium Battery.
The Tesla Powerwall 2 reduces your reliance on the grid by storing your solar energy for use when the sun isn’t shining. Use Powerwall alone or combine it with other Tesla products to save money, reduce your carbon footprint and prepare your home for power outages.
Powerwall is a battery that stores energy, detects outages and automatically becomes your home’s energy source when the grid goes down. Unlike gasoline generators, Powerwall keeps your lights on and phones charged without upkeep, fuel or noise. Pair with solar and recharge with sunlight to keep your appliances running for days.
The LG Chem is intended for home use and stores electricity for solar self-consumption, time of use load shifting, backup power, and off-the-grid use.
The LG Chem RESU10H can store surplus energy generated from rooftop solar panels for use when needed. When the sun has set, energy demand is high, or there is a black-out, you can use the energy stored in your Energy Storage System to meet your energy needs at no extra cost. Unlike a grid-tied solar system which automatically switches off, a battery storage system allows you to keep generating and consuming energy when the grid goes down.
Installing a battery with Skytech Solar is easy. Skytech will take care of everything from site survey to the Self Generation Incentive Program, also known as SGIP.
Electric Vehicles
Skytech Solar prides itself in offering our customers a way to maximize their system’s ROI by installing a EV ready inverter as part their Solar PV system.
Skytech uses the SolarEdge 3800W EV Charging Inverter for projects that will consist of EV charging ports.
Skytech Solar will size the installed system to cover the extra electricity you may need for your car. There are many benefits to using solar direct energy for your vehicle as well as your home. You will reduce your dependence on fossil fuels, reduce the cost of fuel, and reduce your impact on the environment. The purchase of an electric car is a big step towards helping the future of the planet, but there are also some important considerations about the way that it will change the way you drive.
